Wilson’s release puts the spotlight - and pressure - on Washington
March 24th, 2008 by Neal CoolongCedrick Wilson probably had a five percent chance of making the team in 2008 anyway. The Steelers gave WR Nate Washington a $1.4 million tender offer for this season. It’s fight or flight time for the potentially outstanding receiver.

I guess the keyword there is “potentially”. I hate to be negative, but I don’t even believe he’s got potential.
I HATE seeing Nate Washington in the games! My understanding is the only reason they kept him around was because Ben likes him, for whatever reason.
I honestly can’t remember a guy who drops more easy balls than Nate Washington. He’s got hands of stone, and besides a couple of admittedly nice catches last year, he’s not much of a player. There are too few pros to outweigh the cons that he brings to the team.
To me, it’s unfortunate that he’s going to be back at all. I really can’t fathom why they gave him any money, considering what his past performance has been like. I’m no expert, and I certainly don’t have a solution to the WR situation, but I’m smart enough to see that it doesn’t start with Washington.
I hear he plays basketball with Ben. I’m sure he’s great at that, but he’s no football player.
